I got in contact with Dawn, and soon enough Phase 1 will begin! Mona will learn and be tested on basic skills-- not tugging on her leash, letting a friendly stranger pet her, walking through crowds, good behavior for grooming, and more.
Jan. 2022
Mona will be tested on her Good Citizen skills, and will begin Phase 2 of training. Phase 2 will build off of the skills learned previously while also giving her a more city-like enviornment. This includes skills such as navigating stores and restaurants, working with distractions, and unlearning any inappropriate behaviors she may have including growling/barking and being out of control. .
March 2022
Testing for Phase 2 begins, and once passed she will move onto the third and final phase, where she will learn skills specific to my needs.
June 2022
As Mona finishes up Phase 3, I will get to finally meet her and we'll get to start training together! She'll transition to the environments she'll be working in (ie, Chicago and my college campus), and we'll start the scent-training course that will teach her to anticipate an episode.
